Join us for our first attempt at streaming our band practice this Fri, February 17th at 7PM EST. We will probably go for at least 3 hours, depending on how the technical side of things go. There will also be a chat gizmo on the site so you can see who else if anyone is there. The link is johnnymazur.com/live. We will also probably post on FB at the start of the broadcast and include the linkin the post. So if your not busy Friday between 7-10 PM EST join us for some fun!
Your invited to join us! We've done some testing and have had some feedback from you over the past week. It looks like we will go ahead with the broadcast within a week or so, but we need more feedback! If you haven't done so already, please share or like this post to let us know. Thanks!
Last year, two of my old friends, Scott Arhardt and Andy Bellman got together with me to re-kindle some good times. We played together decades ago when we were 13 and 14 years old as a 3-piece rock band around the Village of Williamsville, NY. In March, 2011 we reunited at Abbey Square, a small bar in Williamsville for a one-time reunion, attempting to play the tunes the same way we use to play them, our own way. Well, we had so much fun, that we did it again at Abbey Square in July, only to be cut-short by the Amherst Police Dept. for disturbing the peace. Just like the old days!
The boys and I have decided to try to keep this thing alive. We’re going to stick with the same name, SAM (Scott, Andy, Mazur) and try to put a little more time in this year. One of the things we came up with is possibly streaming the audio of our band practice live out on the NET. We would announce the time and date of our next practice at johnnymazur.com, samband.us and on Facebook, and provide a link to the stream, Since all our instruments are miked and mixed already, it should be relatively easy to pull off. You would hear it all- the arranging, the re-arranging, Scott’s dog’s tail hitting mic stands, bottles clanking, the swearing….all live as it happens. Or doesn’t happen. You never know what might happen. If you think this is something you would be interested in checking out, “Like” or share this post to let us know and let your friends know. We would get a better count if you “Liked” it from johnnymazur.com/news , but if you like it from FB that’s ok too. Feel free to leave a comment here at johnnymazur.com/news or on FB if you have any input of your own. Thanks for listening! Cheers!
P.S. If your curious what it might sound like, the recording below was done live at a band practice, exactly the same way the streaming would be done. Sort of a "preview" of what it might be like.
