S.A.M. is a rock power trio from Buffalo, N.Y. consisting of Scott Arhardt- drums and vocals, Andy Bellman- bass and vocals, and myself, Johnny Mazur- guitar and vocals. While S.A.M. does mainly covers, the phylosophy is to pay tribute to the original song, maintaining the essence, while also making the song a S.A.M. original, adding jams and twists that make each live performance a one of a kind.
We began playing together in the late 70's as teenagers, playing neighborhood parties, and high school events. The trio played "Williamsville Old Home Days" in the old pavilion at around the age of 16.  Scott and his family moved to the San Francisco Bay area the following week, making Old Home Days the last time we would play together for the next 35 years. In 2008, Scott moved back to Buffalo. Since all three of us were back living in the Buffalo area, it was a no-brainer to get  the trio back together.

To this band, every gig is an event, a reunion of sorts. Not just for the band, but for the people that come out too, many of which were there at Old Home Days in in 1978.  In 2022, Scott moved to Texas, but he says he’s going to try to be around for Old Home Week in July each year. Scott created and administers S.A.M.'s Rockin' Friends Page where you can hang out , say hello and see what’s going on!

Below are recordings of some of our “Beer-hearsals” that took place over the years.
